This style of Marimba Chapinlandia comes from mixing the African, Native Central American, and Ladino (creole) cultures.

Here we have a Marimba ensemble from Mexico.
Notice that the instruments are similar to what we saw in El Salvador and Guatemala, but now we have a HORN section! Banda, mariachi, norteño, and ranchera are all popular Mexican genres that feature horns: Trumpets, Trombones, Tubas, Saxophones, and more.

One of Panama's most famous singers is Ruben Blades.
Panama is a Central American country, inhabited mostly by mestizos (persons of mixed African, European and indigenous ancestry).
The music of Panama is based on the folk music of Spain, mixed with Native Central American music, mixed with African music. It's a mix of cultures we see throughout Latin America.
