“fun home” National Tour

This show was a big part of my life from 2013 until 2017. I started as a sub for John Hadfield at the Public Theater when the show had its Off-Broadway premier. There were so many unplanned extensions of the show that I got to play a lot. The show closed in 2014 without any clear indication of transferring to Broadway, and I moved to California. The show transferred to Broadway the next year and won lots of Tony awards including Best Musical. I was proud of the show but sad not to be a part of it. Then I got a call to do the national tour and jumped on the opportunity. I toured for 14 months across 32 different cities in the U.S., playing at performing arts centers and getting a sense of each place with runs lasting between 1 and 6 weeks. I was able to use all my own equipment, shipped out to the tour on a pallet.

It was a great chapter, filled with lots of challenges and growth, that prepared me for what has become my musical theater era.
